Hermitage Cabin

Embrace the solitude at the Hermitage Cabin in Juneau, Alaska. Nestled next to Shrine Creek, it offers primitive charm with twin beds, a wood-burning stove, and a covered porch.

The Hermitage Cabin was built in the early 1940s and sleeps up to two people. This cabin is located next to Shrine Creek and close to the beach, so you will see salmon from mid-July through mid-August, and bears may also be present along the creek.

Rooms and Beds

Important: This is a primitive cabin. No electricity or running water.  Public restrooms (no shower) are within walking distance.

Sleeps 2

  • The cabin consists of a single, very rustic room, measuring approximately 13’ x 17’.
  • The Hermitage Cabin has two twin beds.

0 Bathrooms

This cabin does not have a bathroom or shower. Public restrooms are within walking distance, but there are no showers available. 

Linens, $15 per person

Linens are available for an additional charge of $15 per person (or you can bring your own). If you order linens, your sheets will be provided, but beds are not made. You will have to make the beds yourselves upon arrival. Linens include: 

  • Pillow
  • Fitted sheet, top sheet, pillowcase
  • Bath towel, hand towel, washcloth
  •  

Amenities​

  • A wood-burning stove provides the heat and a place to warm food or make coffee/tea
  • Firewood is free and located next to the cabin
  • Table with seating for two
  • 2 rocking chairs
  • Front porch with 2 chairs
  • Picnic table in yard

  • Closest parking is above Rosary Trail
  •  

Rules and Cleaning

  • Summer rates are in effect May 1 – September 30, and winter rates are in effect October 1 – April 30.
    • Summer bookings require a two-night stay.
  • You are responsible for cleaning the cabin by 11 a.m. on the day of departure.
