Donations to the Shrine

The Shrine of St. Therese was built on a foundation of love, and part of this love included donations of hours and days of time, donations of talents, and monetary donations to make the purchases necessary to construct this unique and special place of refuge and retreat.

The foundation of love of the Shrine of St. Therese is still being built upon by donors today for the needs of the Shrine, particularly the financial needs, have increased over the past few years. Many significant improvements have been made and other renovations and enhancements are yet to be accomplished according to the Master Plan. The latest improvement has been the construction of a gentle-grade handicap ramp so that all will be able to get inside the Shrine Chapel. The ramp was designed and constructed by persons who donated their expertise and time and cut the costs in half. Listed below are some of the significant needs of the Shrine of St. Therese where donors may express their love for the through their financial gift giving. No gift is too small and will be greatly appreciated.

Renovation of the Shrine Chapel (Note: You may want to select one specific area of Chapel renovation to fund; if so, please identify the area desired below or otherwise your Renovation Donation will go for the overall Shrine Chapel project.)

($____) Heating ($35,000) (Current furnace is 30 + years old, inefficient and only used on occasion).

($____) Interior/exter. Rock Wall ($27,000) (Walls cracked/leaking, need sealing & interior insulation).

($____) Roof Repair ($15,000-$35,000) Flat roof section leaking, new roofing for peaked roofs).

($____) Replace Existing Windows ($36,000) Part of windows no longer open due to rusting/settling.

($____) Restore Large Doors and Replace Original Hinges ($12,000) (Hinges rotted)

($____) Inside and outside Lighting of Chapel and Paths to Chapel ($13,000)

($____) Security System for Interior ($9,000) To cut down on any vandalism and stealing.

($____) General Interior Misc. Improvements in Addition to Above (Est. $12,000)

Other Areas One Can Donate Financially:
($____) Donations for Spiritual Outreach (to assist those who are in need of healing, befriending, love)

($____) Donations for Scholarships for those wanting to attend retreats and yet cannot afford such.

($____) Liturgical Needs, altar candles, Blessed Sacrament candles, hosts/wine

($____) Donations for the Landscaping and flowers fund --or plants/trees for one or more of the gardens.

($____) Donations for mechanical needs (repair and maintenance of furnaces, paint, hardware, etc.)

($____) Donations for annual road maintenance--especially snowplowing and sanding in winter).

The list above does not in anyway exhaust the needs of the Shrine but it does give one a few of the areas that currently are in need of funding.
